Telstra | “the soc analyst”
SUMMARY
Telstra and Telstra Purple engaged MSQUARE Productions to develop and produce a content solution that could be used at live engagements, virtual events, and online platforms to educate viewers/customers about Telstra’s SOC capabilities via a ‘day in the life of a Telstra SOC Analyst’. The story takes place inside the Security Operations Centre (SOC) and focuses on three characters: Sarah and Tom (Telstra security analysts), and Ash (a visiting client). In the virtual reality experience, the viewer watches the story unfold from the point-of-view of the client, Ash’s character. The story begins inside the SOC when a threat is detected and the analysts are alerted. The SOC analysts take action to resolve the threat. The virtual reality experience puts the viewer in the ‘clients shoes’ within the story and allows the viewer to freely observe the environment around them while also engaged within the story’s action.
The short film format brings the story to life through compelling visuals, rich bold colors, as well as a full sound and score treatment, offering a memorable experience that will educate the viewers and leave them inspired. Due to the nature of the material and the cinematic format approach, the cinematography should combine beautifully composed static shots with stabilised tracking movements that offer a sense of high-end cinema that viewers are familiar with in motion pictures.
There’s a natural 007 “Sky Fall” atmosphere to the location which we can lean into and draw inspiration from when lighting the scenes. We will establish the environment with a mast wide from the onset of the film and then move in for more character-driven composition on sticks and longer lenses. This traditional coverage will marry with stabilized camera movements once the ‘data breach’ occurs, instilling a sense of action that coincides with the increased pacing of the action within the scene.
